Elder Mease week 80
This has definitely been a week to remember! to start this week off, my companion received news from home that a very close family member has moved on to the next life. the lord is truly placing before the both of us obstacles that we must overcome, what i love most about my companion that despite this major obstacle that he is facing out here in the field, he did not let it affect the work in any way whatsoever.
i just want to say how truly grateful i am to have a knowledge about the plan of salvation, without this plan we have no purpose in this life, or even in the life to come! knowing this plan brings me peace and comfort because i know that despite the deaths that take place in this life, WE WILL see them again. There have been many occasions where i have taught this plan to several different people here in ghana who had just recently lost a loved one at some point in their life. the assurance that there is life after death brings comfort and joy to the soul, "this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God," we have a loving heavenly father who is doing all that he can to bring his children back to him through his perfect gospel. despite all of the opposition and challenges that we all face in this life, there will and always will be light at the end of the tunnel.. we have all been blessed with the Light of Christ in our lives that will lead us towards the straight and narrow path and towards his heavenly kingdom. Death is an essential part of the plan of salvation, in order to become like our heavenly father, we must all experience death and receive perfect, resurrected bodies. When people come to understand that death is all apart of our heavenly fathers plan and that Jesus Christ overcame death through his atonement, they and/or even we, can receive hope and peace when a loved one of ours passes.
The majority of our week has been exchanges with elders in our zone, when president hillam called both my companion and i to lead this zone, he told us first that it is the biggest zone in the mission, and that we should start NOW to lift this YAMORANSA zone and the elders within it. so this week, that is exactly what we have been doing :)
as we continue to work through exchanges this transfer we will continue to do all that we can to uplift the elders around us and make this mission a greater, spiritual place to be. love you all and i hope and pray for each of you once again this upcoming week! have a good one and i will be with you all soon :)
