Elder Mease Week 44

Hey everyone! Wow I don’t even know where to begin! Well anyways this week a lot has happened… as we all know mothers day was yesterday and I was given the wonderful opportunity to talk with my beautiful family after 5 short months! It was nice talking with them again and I did a lot better this time with holding the tears back:) It is crazy finding about all of the mission calls that are coming in back at home! It feels like I just opened my mission call the other day and now I have been our in the field for 10 months!! Time is really flying and there is a big possibility that this coming transfer I may leave my second area on my mission! In the mission, we have been doing something called standard of excellence which is something that the mission president and his assistants put together to help missionaries become more obedient and faithful servants of the lord! I really enjoy it, and seeing how much I have grown in spirit since I arrived at the mtc july 5th amazes me! Well anyways, the mission has been focusing a lot with working with members and the importance that it has with the work! It is so important as a member of the church to always look for missionary opportunities for our lost brothers and sisters so that they may be able to partake in the goodness of this wonderful gospel.  So me and elder palaiti have been getting our members involved much more with the work and having them help us more with finding new people.

The area I am currently in is very different than my last, due to the fact that 80 percent of the population only speaks twi… but I have realized when I arrived here to assin anyinabrim that any area you serve in can be fruitful when you are working with members! The affect that members can have on investigators is amazing! Having the members help us with fellowshipping and building great friendships with those who are investigating the church.

We also baptized joseph yesterday! My companion was the one who did the baptism and joseph even invited all of his nonmember brothers and sisters to see him partake in the waters of baptism! I am so happy for him and the decision he has made in following the lord in his restored church. He inspired me so much to be a better person and I am so thankful for his example to me and seeing the way that he has changed since the very first day we had taught him.I was also able this week to experience going on an exchange with two other elders, elder antopina and elder yablonovsky! My companion had to travel to a city in our mission called takoradi to renew his non-citizenship card for the remainder of his mission. But the exchange with the two elders was wonderful and I learned so much from them and hope that they were able to learn from me also… It was very nice getting to know elder antopina a lot better and helping him feel more comfortable in his new area. He really enjoys the assin fosu area and it was fun getting to know more of his background and help him become a better servant of the lord. I was so very happy I was able to skype home to my family this mothers day! There is a member in the akrofoum ward who was kind enough to let us use his phone after church and call home to our families so I was very thankful for that! I am so blessed to have such an amazing family who sets such a wonderful example for me, and to be sealed to them for all time and eternity. seeing the effect of missionary work with family amazes me, I am so happy that I am able to help other families be sealed in the temple and turn their hearts closer to the savior. I love you all so much and hope you have an amazing week this week! I will talk to you all next week:)
