Elder Mease Week 27
well another sweet week gone by here in Ghana and I'm really enjoying it! this week me and my companion have gotten a lot done! we have taught plenty investigators this week and not one of them were able to make it to church:( we have been trying to visit less actives more often and we were only able to see two this week but its interesting to hear their reasons on leaving and both of them were just because they are lazy and don't want to come anymore so that made me a little disappointed...
the senior couples who just live next door to us left on Thursday and we were all so sad to hear them go but before they left we sang them hymn 152 and it was really a touching moment! ever since I got here to Ghana I have gotten to know elder and sister Durrant so much! it was a blessing to have them on my mission and to get to know them! but anyway we wanted to say another last goodbye so sister hillam invited us over to sing them one last song before they leave and we decided that we sing nearer my god to thee and the spirit really was powerful as we sang! but to see them go was very sad and I will miss the example that they set for me and the other missionaries in the apartment!
we walked a lot this week going back and forth between village and village trying to find more people that we can teach but its hard work too since we're in the middle of the dry season and it's still super hot!! I went on an exchange this week also with elder hess and it was way fun! getting to know him more was way cool and we got a ton of things done that day with some investigators that I've been teaching. the hardest part is having them keep commitments with us but we just work at it and hope that they are telling the truth which 90 percent of the time they aren't but it happens all the time so I'm way used to it!
one of our members got married this week too and it was wonderful seeing and meeting her new husband! he is a Ghanaian from Finland which is pretty sweet but it was great getting to congratulate her at her wedding! this week has been great! times still goin by way too fast its crazy but transfers will be here at the end of the month and there's a big chance that I will be transferred to my next area... but we will see!
great week this week and I hope all is well back at home! thanks everybody for all you do for me and especially for the emails! love you guys and more for next week.
