Hello brothers and sisters!
I have arrived in Ghana and it honestly is so different here! So many humble people! The plane ride over here wasn't too bad, but it did take quite a bit (17 hrs).. when the plane doors opened at the Ghana airport I could feel the heat and humidity hit me. it is so hot here! gonna take a while to get used to for sure.
Anyway, when I arrived at the mission home, the mission presidents were so nice and they fed us and let us stay a few nights until they got our companions all situated. But my companion is soo cool! his name is Elder Jeppson and we are so much alike its crazy! love him to death. the first day of proselyting was so different! all the people here literally have nothing like I do back at home and the culture is insane! such a blessing it is to live in a home with hot showers and air conditioning. Cold showers are honestly the worst thing ever so it's gonna take me a while to get used to lol and all we have to keep us cool is fans which work fine and all but air conditioning is 10 times better without a doubt.
This Saturday I had my very first baptism here in Ghana! her name is Sarah Bekui and she is so amazing! Elder Jeppson taught her a little bit with his old companion then I came in and finished the job I guess lol but anyway the baptism was so spiritual and made me tear up a little not gonna lie. her story on converting is incredible. she really wanted nothing to do with the church at first! But her husband has been a member for almost 2 years now! he has been so patient with her all this time! but Sarah had a dream and in her dream a temple worker approached her and asked her for her temple recommend. knowing she didn't have a recommend she wanted to insult the man, but soon after she woke up from her dream she turned to her husband and told him everything and he said to her "what do you think this means? Isn't this the answer you have been waiting for all this time?" Sarah called me and elder Jeppson and she told us everything that had happened and said that it is time for her to finally be baptized! such an amazing lady! so proud of her and her family!
Amazing first week in Ghana I even got to bear my testimony in sacrament meeting yesterday and the spirit was so strong in the room it was awesome! love the people here and can't wait for more experiences to come! miss you all so much and much love... hope everything back at home is okay. Love you all!!
