Week 9
hey everyone me and elder jeppson are killin it! lol jk still no baptisms this week but we have one planned for the 30th so we will see how it works out for us! but nothing too different happened this week other than me and elder jeppson got a free meal at the mission presidents house! it was so neat!! so it was for that time when the mission home flooded and we had to get all the water out so they repayed us with chicken some vegetables and president is from idaho so he made us some of his dutch oven potatoes and i literally died they were so good! man it reminded me of thanksgiving! then we just talked for a while it was way cool getting to know my mission president a little more and his wife!
our investigators are still not attending church! they give us the most powerful lessons and ask so many good questions then they tell us that they will come to church and just not show! a lot of the people here in ghana tend to do that! they tell me and elder jeppson that they will come to church just so we go away from them and leave them alone which is okay i guess but it kinda stresses me out at times!
i got to see my TCs one last time at trainers follow up and it will probably be the last time i see them all together in over a year! But president gave us all a good instruction on being a good missionary! he talked about struggles that companions have with one another and he also talked about how we can get out of that struggling stage and just go out and teach the gospel! he wants us to be on good terms with our companion because how are we suppose to teach them if the spirit isn't with us! me and elder jeppson don't struggle at ALL with fighting or anything we get along too good! its great serving with him! haha love the guy.
On Sunday it got heated with our bishop! so there is a tradition here that they do for weddings called the knocking and basically what it is is before you get married a man must buy a list of items for the womans father and its basically an agreement with the womans father so bishop was going off at us and saying that his way of culture is better than ours and all this stuff and it was crazy! i dont know if i explained it well enough but its probably better if you just google what it is im not for sure! but yeah we talked for a while on culture and bishop was saying that the traditional marriage is just as important as the temple marriage! so i know this is ghana and they love their traditions too much but the elders in my apartment did not agree with that AT ALL! so me being the new guy just chilled as they pulled out like a bunch of scriptures on eachother it made me nervous lol
but yeah this week was good! nothing too much happened! but i love you all so much and good things are happening here in ghana so you dont have to worry about me other than malaria so i should be just fine;) take care everybody
