Week 6

So I've been out here for 6 weeks already! its crazy to think about but time is literally flying!!! this week so much has happened! and my investigators are showing so much progress it's insane!!

On Tuesday we had the normal district meeting and proselyted forever that day but we found a few new investigators that are showing pretty good progress! it makes me sad though because some of the people we talk with want absolutely nothing to do with us! some of them commit to church but they just never show up! The people here in Ghana just love money and love work! they work so hard just to provide for their families! it breaks my heart. The culture here I'm still getting used to everything! the missionaries say you start to get used to it all after the first few transfers.

wednesday the mission home FLOODED! so apparently the mission president was out of town in Accra so while he was gone one of the pipes broke or something and flooded the whole mission home! but me and elder Jeppson and a few missionaries got the chance to do some service and help them out a little! I wasn't able to take any pictures of it because we went over in such a rush I left my camera back at the apartment! It sucked because we went to bet at like around midnight because we spent so long cleaning up the water!

thursday we met with a less active member and her story is she left the church because they wouldn't give her money to go to South Africa! me and jep were so surprised like what? after six years of being a member you would just leave like that because of money? we talked with her for a few hours and asked her if she still believes the church is true and she said "YES" so we asked why would you leave if you know that the church is true? she didn't give us an answer to that question but she did ask us to leave so that sure was nice! it really crushed me seeing that she would just leave for that reason but we are gonna go try and visit her as much as we can and do some service for her and her family.

on Friday I had huge stomach pains! probably from something that I had eaten the day before! so proselyting that day was tough! drinking a ton of water really seemed to help but not enough! but the day went by way fast because all our investigators were home and wanted to meet with us!

saturday was even more fun! LOL we woke up at 5 in the morning to go and do service for the ward! it was way fun! i even got the chance to weed with a machete! yeah they don't really have lawn mowers here but weeding is way fun! hopefully by the end of my mission I'll be a lot better at it! also our investigator Dadzie is really showing amazing progress! he wants to be baptized hopefully on the 9th of September he said but we will see! I am so excited for him! he is showing such good progress and I can already see his testimony growing every lesson we teach him!

yesterday on sunday only one of our investigators could make it to church and it was Dadzie! he asked so many good questions in investigators class which I got the opportunity to teach! but later after church we shared a few scriptures with some members and then headed to one of the senior couples in the missions house and they fed us some CHILI which was soo good! I haven't had a dish from home for the longest time! all the food here is fried and just tastes weird! but don't worry hopefully as time flies I will get used to it!

Mission is going good everyone! I'm starting to get more and more used to everything here! the culture is still funny to me though! I am looking forward to this next week here in Ghana! hope all is well back at home.. love you all to death!

Love,
