Week 1

Hey everyone!! one week at the MTC and i'm already having amazing experiences!  so much has happened in the past few days. I got here confused not knowing what exactly i was even doing here, saying goodbye to the family was the hardest thing i have ever done before in my ENTIRE life. After saying goodbye I put all of my belongings and clothes in my room then went to my first class and met my companion! His name is Elder Buhanan and he really is a cool dude! i would put a picture of him on here but the computer I am using wont let me add photos to this email which is way annoying.

The first day was the hardest day without a doubt, just because I wasn't sure what i was even doing or why i was here! Basically all it was was an introduction to what my life is going to be like in the next three weeks before i head out into the field but i learned to get used to it and just went about my day with a smile on my face.

on thursday which would be Day 2, i had a whole lot of classes to attend to and to be honest it felt like the longest day i've had in a long time. But later that night we were in a class meeting with our branch presidents and we all got up and bore our testimonies, when it came to me i just went up there and let the spirit guide me through my testimony lol but to be honest, while i was up there i got a little emotional because i know that what i am doing is the right thing to do and i am so glad to be able to be here today to serve the lord and to change lives in ghana. after the meeting, the branch president asked me if i would like to serve as a Zone Leader, and having it be my second day in the MTC i had no idea what a zone leader even was haha but he told me afterwards so we good ;)

Friday was our first normal day, after breakfast we had class for like 3 1/2 hours until lunch and after lunch was excersise time. I personally look forward to that time every single day because they got hoops here and its so tight just playing pick up ball with all the elders i love it! later that night in class we had class again but this time at the end of the meeting all the guys in my district shared their testimonies and i jumped up around the middle of all of it and shared mine with everyone.  The spirit was so strong in that room it was unbelievable, i have never felt so much energy in a room before it really was an amazing experience, and once again i got emotional through that entire testimony meeting. I don't cry very often but i cry like a baby when it comes to bearing my testimony with everyone, getting that warm feeling in your heart when you know that what you are saying is the truth is the best feeling ever.

Saturday was another type of introduction day, it basically was a day where we learn about TRC investigations, and if you have no idea what that is, basically its investigators who come to the MTC who want to receive the gospel in their lives or are just very interested in our church and just want to learn more about it. So we learned more about that and later that night i had the opportunity to teach my first discussion but it wasnt a TRC investigator, it was my teacher pretending to be an investigator and acting like he has no idea what the gospel is about.  It was very different teaching him because he was so good at acting it honestly freaked me out a little but i felt good about how the investigation went afterwards but it was my first one out of many so im looking forward to that.

okay now on sunday i had the chance to go to sacrament and priesthood meeting at the mtc and it was way fun! sunday was a very spiritual day. i had a lot of free time so i just used that time to read and study the scriptures which really put me in a spiritual mood. but the best thing about sunday was the "Character of Christ" by David Bednar. Such an amazing talk by an amazing man! it literally changed my life it was that good

Monday me and Elder Buhanan had our first TRC investigations and to be honest it was really weird the first time because we just used that time getting to know them and taught a little bit on the restoration, afterwards i feel like they really enjoyed the lesson we are teaching two different investigators named sarah and katrina and they both are very fun to get to know as well as teach.

Tuesday we had the opportunity to do service for the MTC which was pretty great... they didn't give me the best job in the world but its whatever right lol but anyway afterwards we had exercise time then class and then we all had a devotional which was very spiritual and i was asked if i wanted to sing in the choir and me being me i said of course!! the experience was incredible! even though im the worst singer it was amazing listening to the peacful music and feeling the spirit throughout the entire devotional session

Okay so yesterday was by far the best day for me, in the afternoon we went over to the TRC and taught katrina. at the beginning of the lesson we reviewed with her a little bit and then i asked her if she was keeping up on the challenge i gave her (which was prayer) and she said she was, i asked her how it went and how she felt when she prayed. And no joke the spirit because so strong in that room as she told me how she felt and how amazing her experience was! having her get all emotional and talking about how she felt was the greatest feeling! we just went back and forth talking about how important prayer is and how it will bless her life through the ups and downs and she really gave me such a memorable experience. i bore my testimony to her on jesus and how he is there for us no matter what and all he wants for us is to receive happiness and joy but to remain physically clean as well as spiritually awake as we go about our lives. after katrina we taught our second lesson to sarah! she said the challenge went great so i asked her if she would like to say the opening prayer for some practice and also to bring the spirit into the room. she hesitated a little but eventually decided to do it and the prayer she gave was so good!! i am so glad i get to teach such amazing investigators. but 1 week down at the mtc 2 more weeks to go! cant wait for the many experiences to come! LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH and i hope everything back at home is going great!

Love Elder Mease
